Samson and Delilah was performed at the Badisches Staatstheater in 2010. José Cura not only played Samson, but also directed the production and designed the costumes and sets. His staging transposes the action to the present day - to a disused oil camp - rather than to biblical times. Children serve as a connecting element between hostile peoples and help to turn enemies into friends.
