Following a spat with their son's bossy mother-in-law after their first grandchild is born, Ma and Pa Kettle temporarily leave their ultra-modern home and move back to their old ramshackle farm. But when evidence of uranium ore is discovered on Pa's clothes after he falls into a well, the family must dodge greedy speculators who want their suddenly valuable land.
