Meanwhile, in La Rochelle, Forster calls in help to find the Goldblatts, leaving Margot in a desperate situation

Suspicions run high on U-822 as Frank tries to recruit more defectors. Close behind on U-612, Wrangel’s frustration builds as he attempts to lead an increasingly dysfunctional crew. Sam takes drastic measures to obtain vital information in New York, before making his intentions clear to Cassandra. Margot leads the Goldblatts out of La Rochelle - but are they heading toward safety or danger?

Johannes takes U-822 to the surface, inviting his crew for a swim in an attempt to get them on side. But the decision leaves them all in serious jeopardy. Under pressure following his deal with Berger and feeling alienated by those around him, Hoffmann grows closer to Cassandra. Margot finds a vital ally as Forster and his new deputy Anatole make their presence felt in St. Rémy.

Keen to impress his superiors, Forster cracks down on Anatole’s wayward behaviour in St. Rémy, while Margot desperately tries to save Elias. In need of urgent repairs to U-822, Johannes reluctantly approaches a supply vessel. With his arch-rival finally in sight, Wrangel pushes U-612 to the limit, and Johannes makes a decision that splits his crew apart.

Both Johannes and Wrangel try to bring their crews into line. At the jazz club in New York, Cassandra only has eyes for Hoffmann - but his situation is becoming ever more perilous as an infuriated Sam delivers an ultimatum and Berger receives shocking instructions from Germany. With the captured Jews in La Rochelle facing imminent transportation to Poland, Margot and Camille formulate a plan.

Wrangel’s pursuit of Johannes culminates in a dramatic showdown out in the Atlantic. Amid the battle, the saboteurs on U-822 seek a way out. Margot is appalled by a shocking betrayal, while Forster instructs Anatole to use whatever means necessary to extract information. Hoffmann, injured during his tussle with Berger, faces up to the truth as he asks Cassandra to leave the city with him.

A U-boat heads toward the US shoreline. On land, Hoffmann waits in his motel room. He has lost a lot of blood but, if he is to make it home, he must hang on until the rendezvous time. In La Rochelle, Duval has disappeared, and Margot fears the worst. With the final prisoners being loaded onto the train, the Resistance cell members decide to put their plan into action.
