Over the course of a year, director Ai Weiwei followed refugee crises in 23 countries, including France, Greece, Germany, Iraq, Mexico, Turkey, and Bangladesh. It portrays the causes that lead millions of people to leave their countries of origin, such as war, poverty, and political persecution.
