Impossible Builds

After years traveling through Europe, Iain and Alyson are ready to put down roots. Their search takes them to Inner Hebridean Island of Skye where they purchase a remote half acre plot, but building a traditional house is a challenge.

Delaval and Veronica are restoring 450 acres for conservation and funding it by building a treehouse in Swanton Novers Wood. A Scottish firm constructs it in 7 sections to minimize damage to the woodland habitat on delivery.

Jamie Feilden's 60-acre farm doubles as a charity for urban youth. To fund it, he now plans two prefabricated elliptical cabins on a remote slope. They'll feature timber decks, open-plan living, and green roofs-though weather may delay the build.
