Ana, 28, is found dead with her heart removed the day before her release from a psychiatric clinic where she was committed against her will. Angèle, a young police officer, leads her first investigation alone. But how do you question unstable patients?

Angèle questions the patients as directed by Raphaël Santi. Psychotropic drugs have disappeared, Camille is pregnant and her husband suspects rape. Angèle becomes obsessed with Ana, especially after learning they share the same birthday.

Angèle finally finds Ana's diary, but most of it is unreadable. The patients grow increasingly agitated, fearing another murder. Rose, the psychic, predicts another tragedy, but Angèle no longer knows whom to trust.

Maxime, about to reveal the killer's name, is knocked out by Bastien and falls into a coma. Rose, the psychic, could help Angèle, but has isolated herself. Angèle loses her grip, nearly falling for Simon, a schizophrenic patient.

Maxime wakes from his coma and gives a name to Angèle, who decides not to tell Commissioner Favard, convinced he is lying. Favard removes her from the case. Her mother and partner worry about her mental health.

Angèle's mother convinces Bastien to have her committed, believing she's losing her mind. Angèle escapes and persuades Favard to resume searching the clinic. Ana's heart is found in the garden, revealing the truth about the murder.

Angele, bound to be committed into the psychiatric hospital, convinces Favard to search the clinic one last time, and makes a crucial discovery.
