The Return of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF29) premieres as UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski and No. 2 contender Brian Ortega evaluate and draft their respective teams of fighters. After moving into the fighter house, the competition kicks off with a bout in the middleweight division.

Alexander Volkanovski brings the party as the fighters watch UFC 261. Brian Ortega picks Liudvik Sholinian to challenge Team Volkanovski's No. 1 overall pick, Mitch Raposo, in the first bantamweight fight of the season.

Team Volkanovski looks to Ryder Newman for their first win, in a middleweight bout against Tresean Gore. Meanwhile, the matchup tests allegiances for Team Ortega's Miles Hunsinger, whose friendship with Newman predates the show.

Ahead of their bantamweight fight, Dustin Lampros and Vincent Murdock each share the emotional backstories that fuel them. Michael Chiesa, UFC welterweight, joins Team Volkanovski for a training session.

Tensions between teams spills over from the fight announcement into the house as Mitch Raposo and Andre Petroski exchange words. Middleweight Bryan Battle aims to deliver the first win for Team Volkanovski, but must face tough-as-nails opponent, Kemran Lachinov.

Team Ortega pranks Team Volkanovski with the help of some four-legged friends. Bantamweight Dan Argueta takes on Ricky Turcios who is looking to capitalize on his second chance, after falling short on Dana White's Contender Series in 2017.

The final bantamweight preliminary fight sees hometown friends and roommates, Brady Hiestand and Josh Rettinghouse, go head-to-head in the Octagon. Team Volkanovski looks to ride its wave of momentum.

Team Volkanovski looks to complete its improbable comeback. An injury threatens to derail the final preliminary middleweight fight between Miles Hunsinger and Gilbert Urbina. Afterward, Dana White announces the matchups for the semifinals.

Team Volkanovski retaliates for the donkey prank. The semifinal fighters connect with their families for the first time since entering the house. Ricky Turcios and Luidvik Sholinian fight for the first spot in the bantamweight finals.

Forrest Griffin, UFC Hall of Famer and winner of TUF Season 1, joins the teams for a special competition away from the Octagon. Reeling from five consecutive losses, Team Ortega hopes middleweight Andre Petroski can end the streak in his semifinal bout versus Bryan Battle.

UFC fighter, Donald Cowboy Cerrone joins Team Volkanovski for a training session. The coaches compete in a high stakes game of cornhole. Brady Hiestand and Vincent Murdock face off in the second bantamweight semifinal fight.

Alexander Volkanovski invites his team to the coaches' house. Brian Ortega introduces his family to his team. Middleweights Gilbert Urbina and Tresean Gore compete in the last semifinal fight, ahead of the live finale.

The finale will take place at UFC Fight Night on Aug. 28 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. The event is headlined by Edson Barboza vs. Giga Chikadze.
