In the Season 3 premiere, Fiona indulges in some R&R at a beach resort with another guest (STEVE CARELL), while former paramour Austen (ALAN CUMMING) begs for Fiona's forgiveness while sitting alongside his very pregnant fiancée. And the composer for the musical based on Fiona's life suffers from writer's block.

Fiona's husband calls from New Mexico with a request of his new boyfriend who reveals that Fiona's under investigation for campaign finance improprieties. Having killed "Net Therapy," Fiona welcomes Jerome back to her practice, but discovers neither he has any knowledge of the bank login info that would exonerate her.

Fiona is shocked to discover that Jackson (STEVE CARELL) is investing in the musical after Franny (MEGAN MULLALLY) signs a huge recording contract and quits the show. Also, Fiona reaches out to her old nemesis, Robin, to see if Robin can help exonerate her.

Fiona turns to Kip for help tracking down the banking documents that will exonerate her, which leads her to a morethan happy hoarder (MEG RYAN); at the same time, Gina demands that Fiona serves as her matron of honor for her bachelorette party and wedding in Las Vegas.

In pursuit of the evidence that might clear her, Fiona travels to Karen's (MEG RYAN) hoarding den and performs therapy directly. Robin reveals she's recorded incriminating video of media-mogul Austen Clarke at the Met Gala she attended. So Fiona, suspicious that Robin's husband, Richard, may be working for the Russian Mafia, hatches a plan to silence Robin for good.

When Fiona reaches out to Kip (VICTOR GARBER), she finds out that the campaign investigation has targeted a new suspect, and Fiona may be off the hook! But faced with her impending divorce and the loss of Kip's support, Fiona takes on a batch of new clients, including a long-distance couple (DARREN CRISS & MAE WHITMAN) who are planning their first in-person meeting.

Against Fiona’s wishes, the long-distance lovers (DARREN CRISS & MAE WHITMAN) take a significant, cross-country step to resolve their issues.

Fiona's mother Putsy (LILY TOMLIN), made wealthier from her "Net Therapy" sale, calls Fiona to check in on Kip.

Austen (ALAN CUMMING) sadly informs Fiona that Gina refuses to divorce him, leaving his relationship with Fiona in limbo, and Putsy (LILY TOMLIN) tells Fiona about her soon-to-be-published memoir.

In the third season finale, Austen's experience with Gina has set him on a new life path and it doesn't sit well with Fiona. Meanwhile, Putsy's book has become a surprise bestseller; and Kip makes a decision about his marriage to Fiona.
