Vienna Blood

Dr. Max Liebermann, a student of Freud, is called upon by Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt to help investigate the murder of a beautiful young medium. The mysterious circumstances of the case suggest a supernatural power is at work.

Max employs his psychoanalytic training to probe the minds of the suspects. A thread emerges that takes Max and Oskar across Vienna’s rooftops, into the spiritualist circles of high society, and finally to the hypnotic Riesenrad wheel.

Max’s engagement party is interrupted by the news of a grotesque series of murders, where the murderer leaves distinctive calling cards. Oskar is confused by the seemingly random choice of victims and so, once again, he calls on Max.

The investigation draws Oskar and Max into the sphere of nationalistic groups who despise Vienna’s immigrants. Max’s fiancée, Clara, takes dangerous risks before they uncover the shocking rationale behind the killing spree.

Max Liebermann asks Oskar Rheinhardt for help when his nephew suffers a breakdown. Within the military school, ex-soldiers prepare a new generation for Europe’s next war, but the school’s traditions are hidden from the outside world.

Suspicion at St. Florian’s falls on an elite group of cadets with a penchant for sadism and dangerous games. Max and Oskar probe the minds of students and teachers, but the breakthrough comes from a different type of science.
