The Ingalls decide to move closer to Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson), who is now teaching at a school in Winoka. Once they arrive, Charles (Michael Landon) takes a job managing a hotel, but soon things start to disappear from the hotel. (Part 1 of 2)

With money tight and his boss unwilling to give him a raise, Charles sells his fiddle in order to buy Mary a gift for her birthday, and Laura works hard to give Mary an extra-special gift…a letter written in Braille. Part 2 of 2.

Because of his bitter father, a blind student feels useless and is reluctant to try and do anything at the school for the blind. While Adam tries to help him can self-confidence, it may be up to Albert and The Winoka Warriors football team.

Laura meets Amelia, the new girl in school, who is ashamed of her very overweight father who works at the school for the blind where Mary teaches. But it will take the students at the school to give Amelia a new perspective on her father.

The eternally-broke Toby Noe wins the lottery and becomes a man of means, but soon finds there are many who will help him part with his wealth. Meanwhile, fed up with city life, the Ingalls discuss the possibility of returning to Walnut Grove.

When everyone's favorite families -- the Ingalls, the Garveys and the Olesons -- return to Walnut Grove, they discover a town that is badly in need of repair. Everyone in pitches in, but can they bring the town back to its original condition?

Laura (Melissa Gilbert) feels ignored when Charles (Michael Landon) begins spending all of his free time with Albert (Matthew Labyorteaux), and her jealousy makes the boy wonder if Walnut Grove -- and this family -- is the right place for him.

Harriet Oleson begins writing an editorial in the newspaper called "Harriet's Happenings," and, of course, her gossip-mongering makes its way into the paper. Soon the whole town is reading her column…and many aren't happy with what they find there.

When Adam finally asks Mary for her hand in marriage, Charles and Caroline travel to Winoka for the wedding. But Mary begins having second thoughts when her parents start talking about how hard it was to keep track of Mary when she was little.

Jonathan Garvey and Charles Ingalls allow their sons to prove their manhood by allowing them to take a trip to Sleepy Eye by themselves. However, the fathers follow their boys to make sure they are safe and end up being the ones who may need help.

Andy Garvey's mother is embarrassed by her son's performance at school and she hires Nellie Oleson to tutor him. Nellie reveals her secret for getting good grades...cheating. Will Andy be able to live with himself as a cheater, or will he confess?

After Standish decides to convert the school for the blind into his new hotel and saloon, the rush is on for Mary (Melissa Sue Anderson) and Adam (Linwood Boomer) to find a new, affordable location…which may just lead them home again. (Part 1 of 2)

When Charles needs some extra pay, he and Jonathan take new jobs running telephone lines. In his absence, everyone must pick up the slack and do their part, leaving young Carrie no one to play with…so she creates an imaginary friend named Alyssa.

When Albert (Matthew Labyorteaux) becomes a craftsman's apprentice to an older Jewish man (John Bleifer), he learns some important life lessons about the power of prejudice when the kids at school ridicule the old man...and their friendship.

After Laura's friend, Jordan Harrison, is in an accident, he decides to pretend to be blind to try and keep his parents from getting divorced. When Laura discovers he isn't blind, she is torn between the truth and her promise not to say anything.

When the affable Toby Noe (special guest star Ray Bolger) comes to visit -- and with the town dance coming up -- Laura and Albert decide to do a little matchmaking. Meanwhile, Toby's happy-go-lucky attitude doesn't quite suite everyone's tastes.

Mary is expecting a child which creates a closer bond between Adam and his father, who even suggests that Mary and Adam come live with him…in New York City. Meanwhile, Albert becomes smitten with Miss Elliott, the new substitute teacher.

When Kezia, a friend of Laura and Albert, does not pay her property taxes, Mrs. Oleson buys the property and allows Kezia to be her maid. Laura and Albert, meanwhile, try and scare the Olesons off the property by any means necessary.

The price of wheat is falling. The farmers agree to sell their wheat at a set price. When one person in town sells to somebody at a lower price because he doesn't want a black person to get the same price for wheat as him, Mr. Garvey confronts him.

When Mary starts to be able to distinguish light from dark, the Ingalls believe she is regaining her sight and take her to see a specialist. Meanwhile, Albert and Laura fix up Mr. Edwards' old home with some very unusual paint colors.

Charles stays with a family while looking for some horses to buy. The children of the family ask him if he could intervene to keep their parents from splitting up. After Charles talks to the husband and the wife, will the family stay together?

When two men need money to survive the winter, they sell meat even though they know it is infected with anthrax. Several people in Walnut Grove get sick, and Charles and Mr. Garvey must travel to Springfield to pick up some medical supplies.

Albert and Laura run away with their friend, Dylan, who is dying from leukemia and wants to fulfill his dream of seeing the Pacific Ocean. Mr. Ingalls catches up with the kids, but when he finds out what is going on, he helps them get to the ocean.
