The newly-weds return home from their honeymoon to a big welcome from both families. But not everyone is happy: Smithy is upset with Gavin and Nessa has a big confession to make.

Smithy goes missing after his news about becoming a father. When the boys finally track him down can he be persuaded to do the right thing?

Stacey is getting used to being an Essex wife, but it is not as exciting as she had hoped. Smithy goes with Nessa for the first scan and they glimpse their baby.

Gavin and Stacey go house hunting while Mick is the talk of the town. Nessa visits Stacey for a night of tenpin bowling but tensions are rising between the newly-weds.

Gavin refuses to consider the idea of moving to Barry. Smithy admits to Gavin he had another fling with Nessa and realises he’ll have to face her again at Gwen’s surprise party.

Gavin seeks counselling for his marriage from Smithy. But Smithy’s idea of relationship therapy is to organise a surprise lad’s night out at a foam party.

Stacey heads back to Essex and into the arms of Gavin. Everything seems perfect until Pam and Nick offer to cover the down payment on a house for them.

As Nessa and the Wests head to Essex to spend Christmas with the Shipmans, Gavin and Stacey have a startling announcement to make.
