Icelandic Tails

Robson Green, the actor and host of Extreme fishing TV series is our guest. He has never fished for Icelandic salmon. The program is shot in three locations. River Laxá in Kjos, river Rangá and river Kjarrá. We travel to the remote pools of Kjarrá by helicopter and fish pools that are untouched the whole summer. Fantastic fishing with Robson catching a number of salmon and seatrout.

Tiggy Pettifer a passionate angler is visiting Iceland. She is a well known for being nanny to Prince William and Harry when they were children. Tiggy goes to lake Thingvallavatn and looks for the Ice age brown trout that the lake is famous for. Then we head out to a different location, the river Tungufljót. A huge clear river with a lot of salmon.

Joanna Gibson is taking along her daughter Marina Gibson who is a highly skilled fisherman and runs her own very successful fly fishing school in Europe. Fishing the rivers Vídidalsá and Midfjardará, they catch tons of arctic char. We have two epic fights in the episode. One is lost but the other not.

Father and son, Charles and Alex Jardine travel to the highlands of Iceland looking for monster arctic char. Charles Jardine is a respected artist who specializes in painting fish and fisherman. The river they fish is gin clear, home to some huge trout. The location is five hundred meters above sea level, the highest populated place in Iceland.

93 year old Lilla Rowcliffe visits Iceland for the 30th time. Fishing the same river. Big Laxá. She brings her grandson and great grandson along for the adventure. Lilla has had an astonishing life and shares a bit of that life with us. Telling us how she fled Germany at the start of WW2 with her uncle in a small private plane then packed parachutes for pilots in the UK during the war.

Robson Green is back with friend and colleague, fellow actor James Murray. Fishing Laxá in Asum the two give a great performance in this famous river. The Competition is on with plenty of action and drama!
