Born Mucky: Life on the Farm

At Tom’s Cambridgeshire farm, a potent enemy emerges and threatens his wheat harvest. Ally devises a plan in order to save his soya crop from ravenous pigeons, and Ian is determined to ensure a better life for his rescued pigs.

Tragedy strikes when Pete and Ally’s farm is burglarized right before harvest. Tom’s main worker Joe needs a major attitude check before taking vital exams, and Ian is determined to grow his herd but is faced with a difficult decision.

Problems arise when Ally’s grass baler malfunctions and Dad Graham steps in to help. Ian and Stef are put to the test at their Shropshire farm bakery, and Tom discovers a stock of sickly sheep that could threaten his profits at auction.

In Shropshire, Ian is forced to make an expensive decision about his problematic prized bull. Ally resurrects rusting machinery, and a potential barn fire keeps Tom and Joe on their toes as they stack this year’s hay harvest.

The first harvest of the year is threatened when Ian’s fleet of old tractors are strained. A potentially hazardous structure is discovered on Tom’s farm, and Ally’s new campsite venture may be put on hold due to spiraling costs.

After gale force winds destroy Tom’s wheat field and damage his yield, he must devise a plan to save the vital crop. In order to raise fast cash, Ally auctions off a rusty farm kit, and work is halted on Ian’s farm when he discovers great crested newt.

Trouble arises when Tom’s wheat harvest is at risk of catching fire. Ian prepares his cattle for TB testing, and Ally’s woodcraft skills are put to use when he builds a fence for his new venture.

Plans change when one of Ian’s prized pigs escapes during a weigh-in at the butchery. Problems arise when Ally helps Pete harvest barley, a wasp infestation threatens Ian’s bee colony, and Tom seeks help to save his ancient hedges.

As winter lurks, Ian becomes concerned when his experimental barley crop may not bring enough yield for the pigs. Ally anxiously awaits the camp site’s first official review from a travel critic, and dew threatens Tom’s crop.

Ally is determined that his soya crop will be a success for the last harvest of the year. Ian hopes his heritage skills will help save his centuries-old barn, and Tom’s grain yield is threatened when it’s found overheating.
