The Vision of Escaflowne

Hitomi lives a relatively normal life. She runs on the track team, enjoys fortune telling, and has a major crush on Amano from the boys’ track team. But everything changes when a strange boy appears from another realm along with…a dragon?!

Werewolves, cat girls, and dragons. It’s a bit much for Hitomi to take in as she finds herself on the planet known as Gaea. Before she can get comfortable, invisible enemies attack the kingdom, and she must entrust her life to King Van and Escaflowne.

Hitomi is separated from Van, and when she is attacked, her savior is a handsome knight named Allen Schezar who bears a similar appearance to Amano. When she reunites with Van, more trouble awaits them.

Hitomi warns Allen and his men about the danger she saw in her vision. But even with the warning, will Allen’s army have the means to defend their castle from Zaibach? Or will the people of Asturia lose their home just like Fanelia?

Van attempts to lead Dilandau away with Escaflowne, but when they finally face each other, Van is no match and is captured. While Hitomi and Allen attempt to find him, Van has an unexpected reunion.

With Van rescued, they make their way to the capital, Palas. Allen seeks audience with the King of Palas but finds Zaibach soldiers already there. Van chases after his brother for answers on his disappearance and why he has joined Zaibach.

Van successfully passes the King’s test with Escaflowne. But as they rest, more danger is just around the corner. And when Hitomi gets kidnapped, the rescue mission gives Dilandau the perfect opportunity to go after Escaflowne.

Van, Hitomi, and Merle escape into the forest while Allen is imprisoned by the King of Palas. Dilandau’s forces leave the city and head towards the Duchy of Freid. After resting, Van and the others take Escaflowne towards a dragon graveyard.

Allen and his men make their way to Freid, hoping to find Van and Hitomi. Meanwhile, Hitomi learns more about Van’s past and his wings. As they make their way to Freid, they encounter Zaibach and their invisible Guymelefs. Will they finally get Escaflowne?

Millerna is able to save Allen, and they continue their passage to Freid. When they arrive, they warn Prince Chid about Zaibach’s intentions. But when a doppelganger sent by Folken tricks the prince, Allen is arrested as a traitor to Freid and Asturia.

Hitomi is questioned by the Plaktu imposter, Zongi. When he touches her pendant, she sees his true form and a vision of his death. When the vision ends, Zongi runs off, and Hitomi’s heart stops. Can Van get to Zongi before everything is revealed to Dilandau?

Duke Freid arrives and asks Allen to join his army. Hitomi struggles with the death of Zongi which keeps replaying in her mind. She refuses to use her powers out of fear, but, when she does a reading for Chid, she learns a great secret.

After fleeing the burning city of Freid, Van and the others follow the Duke to learn about the secret power of Freid and the history of Atlantis. As they prep to face Zaibach, Hitomi has a bloody vision about the Duke’s fate.
