Lawyer Wayne Fletcher, unhappily married and in love with his secretary, Donna Kincaid, becomes the prime suspect when his wife is found smothered to death in her own bed. Lack of evidence allows Fletcher to walk free. However, when a string of "pillow murders" begins to terrorize the city, all the victims expose a link to either Fletcher or Donna.
