Escape to Chimp Eden

Eugene races against time to rescue a chimpanzee called Josephine from a run-down printing factory before her current owners carry out their threat to euthanize her. He also discovers two baby chimps in appalling circumstances.

Eugene is waiting for the results of blood tests on the two young chimps that he was forced to leave in Angola, but life at the Chimp Eden is not running smoothly either. Sally is proving tough to integrate with the other chimps.

Eugene Cussons risks his life when he goes into Chimp Eden's kindergarten, where all the baby chimps are placed in the custody of 43-year-old Jao. Jao acts like a grandfather to the babies but is potentially a threat to Eugene.

Xena, a 4-year-old female, is threatening to mess up Eugene Cussons' unique relationship with Jao and compromise his access to the baby enclosure. Every time Eugene enters the enclosure, Xena attacks him.

Rescued from a decade spent in tiny cages, three chimps are about to taste freedom for the first time. Eugene Cussons soon enjoys the fruits of his efforts, as they will have open spaces, lots of sunshine and trees to climb.

If Zac and Jinga turn out to be a different type of chimp species, Eugene Cussons won't be able to keep them at Chimp Eden. They'll have to go to a different sanctuary, which would be heartbreaking after all he did to rescue them.

Jinga as joins a group of three big males and three females and, after some abuse by the males, manages to escape twice. Eugene must ask himself if he should try again or accept that Jinga may never be integrated into the group.

Eugene is on a mission to Sudan to rescue seven orphaned baby chimps, one of whom is very ill. The stakes are even higher on this mission, though, because another baby is on its way: his wife, Natasha, is seven months pregnant.

At the safe house in Sudan, Eugene Cussons receives the good news that his plane is arriving the next day. But this means that Eugene must finally decide which of the seven babies he will leave behind.

Eugene Cussons attempts to deal with Cozi, who is lovable and funny one minute but aggressive and hostile the next. Meanwhile, a brush fire has broken out on the reserve, and Eugene and the sanctuary crew fight the flames.

It's an important day at Chimp Eden. The five baby chimps that Eugene Cussons recently rescued from Sudan have completed their time in quarantine and are ready to join the other chimps in the infant enclosure.

With so many new arrivals in the baby enclosure, Eugene Cussons' place in the hierarchy is in question. He must figure out a way to be accepted into this new family group, but it's a risky undertaking.
