We meet Ben Southall, winner of The Best Job In The World Promotion - a 6 month, $150,000 placement to be the 'caretaker' of Australia's Great Barrier Reef. Ben's a constant traveller, having just come back from a driving trip around Africa. He's 33, and never settled. Out of 34, 000 applicants.

They start island hopping, seeing if what's above and below the water really matches the 'myths' about the Great Barrier Reef. Ben is inundated with press, tourism officials, local dignitaries, and hangers on - everyone wants a piece of the guy who won Best Job In The World.

Ben has a surprise for Bre. He knows she's petrified of sharks, so he's set up a special shark dive at the aquarium so she can get up close and personal with some killers.

Ben 'hooks up' with master fisherman Kevin Collins to learn about life among the mangroves. Although hot and steamy places, the mangroves are the lifeblood of the reef - where young fish grow before heading out to spend their lives on the reef. It's also a great place to fish for the legendary mud crabs of Northern Australia! Having caught himself a might 'muddy.

It's tourists everywhere as Ben and Bre are crowned king and queen of the Great Barrier Reef festival - but Ben wants to meet the real people of the reef and heads north to visit the Kuku Yulanji people in the magnificent Mossman Gorge.

Ben and Bre are on the final leg of Ben's 6-month job - so it's the last chance to search for weird and wonderful Aussie animals, and try their hands at some quintessential Aussie activities. From the moment they start sand dune surfing on Moreton Island they know the last few weeks are going to be a whirlwind.
