Everwood

After the death of his wife, Dr. Andrew "Andy" Brown trades his career as a renowned neurosurgeon for an opportunity to be a better parent and move his two children to Everwood, Colorado.

Andy and Ephram's fragile relationship is further strained when it appears that Andy is once again giving priority to his work instead of his family. Meanwhile, as the town of Everwood celebrates its annual Fall Thaw Festival, Ephram's interest in Amy continues to develop, and Delia gets into trouble at school for questioning her teacher's antiquated rules.

Dr. Brown's neighbor and friend Nina is ostracized by the townspeople when they discover that she is a surrogate mother for a woman in her mid-50s.

Dr. Brown and Dr. Abbott must put aside their differences to educate the town of Everwood after several of their teenaged patients are diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease.

After a lost deer makes its home in the Browns' backyard, Dr. Brown insists on accompanying Ephram while he helps the animal return to the wilderness. Meanwhile, Ephram finally admits to Amy that he never asked his father to consider operating on her comatose boyfriend. Also, Delia questions the existence of God.

Amy is heartbroken--and Ephram is furious--when Dr. Brown decides against performing a risky operation on Amy's comatose boyfriend. Meanwhile, Delia is forbidden from playing with her only friend, Magilla, after his parents witness them playing dress-up. And a traveling psychologist, Dr. Trott, creates an uproar in the Everwood community.

With the help of his friend and surgical partner from New York, Dr. Brian Holderman (LAMONT THOMPSON), Dr. Brown operates on Amy's comatose boyfriend, Colin (recurring guest star MIKE ERWIN). Amy relies on Ephram for support as she awaits the outcome. Meanwhile, an emotional Bright admits what actually happened on the day of the car accident.

As his wedding anniversary draws near, Dr. Brown loses hope and questions whether he will ever feel like his life is worth living again. Meanwhile, Ephram and Amy share their first kiss during a field trip. And Dr. Abbott has a panic attack when his wife, Rose (recurring guest star MERRILYN GANN), proposes that they take salsa dancing lessons. Recommended Episode

Ephram and Delia's grandparents, Grandpa Jacob Hoffman and Nonny Ruth Hoffman, make an unexpected visit to check on their son-in-law--and they question Dr. Brown's parenting skills. Meanwhile, Ephram sneaks out of the house to see Amy, who is still recovering emotionally from the surgery on her boyfriend, Colin Hart.

Delia and her grandmother, Nonny Ruth Hoffman, host a festive birthday party for a grumpy Edna, who hates this particular day of the year.

Hoping to cheer up Delia, Ephram tries hard to recreate the Thanksgiving traditions of their mother as the Brown family spends its first holiday without her.

When the owner of Everwood's flower shop dies, Dr. Brown discovers that she was growing marijuana in her backyard to help people who were suffering from cancer.

Much to the chagrin of Dr. Abbott, who considers himself Everwood's resident thespian, Dr. Brown begrudgingly auditions for and is offered the lead role in a local production of "The King and I." Meanwhile, Ephram tries to contain his emotions when his intense feelings for Amy are complicated by Colin's desire to be his friend.

Although conflicted by his feelings for Amy, Ephram finds himself serving as confidante and friend to Amy's formerly comatose boyfriend, Colin, who continues to struggle to reclaim his life.

On a church skiing trip chaperoned by curmudgeonly Dr. Abbott, Amy and Colin share their first kiss since his surgery; Ephram becomes intrigued with Colin's younger sister, Laynie.

When traveling psychologist Dr. Gretchen Trott comes back to town, Dr. Brown realizes how attracted to her he is. In other romantic entanglements, Edna and Irv have difficulty adjusting to life after his heart attack scare; Harold and his wife, Rose, argue after they attend couples therapy; and Ephram asks Laynie on their first date, in part to show Amy that he's moving on with his life.

Dr. Abbott's dementia-plagued, elderly godfather, Judge Marvin Harrison, confesses to a murder that took place 30 years ago--and claims that Dr. Abbott's father was his accomplice.

As the anniversary of his mother's death approaches, Ephram confronts a repressed memory of his father cheating on his mother. The memory causes the existing rift between father and son to escalate into a major emotional event. Meanwhile, Amy worries that Colin might not be recovering as well as everyone thinks when he becomes violently ill on one of their dates. Recommended Episode

Although Amy and Bright are still in denial regarding Colin's recovery, Ephram can't ignore the negative signs any longer after he witnesses Colin losing control.

Nervous Ephram feels the pressure of performing his first piano recital in Everwood. Dr. Brown and Dr. Abbott attempt to diagnose a man, Chuck (DAN MERKET), with a mysterious sleeping disorder that leaves welts on his body. Although her parents have revoked her privileges, Amy pretends that she wants to spend time with her grandmother, Edna, in order to secretly visit Colin.

In a controversial and moving episode, Dr. Brown confronts his deepest convictions while trying to help a local girl, Kate Morris, who is in big trouble.

After Colin has a seizure, Dr. Brown strongly advises Colin's father, James, to allow him to perform brain surgery on Colin. But Colin's parents resist the dangerous procedure.

As the day of Colin's brain surgery approaches, Dr. Brown travels with Ephram and Delia to New York to consult with his accomplished mentor, Dr. Donald Douglas.
