After her dismissal from Zelazny & McVay, Chylka gets involved in a double homicide case. Her client, seeking help with an insurance policy, becomes the prime suspect.

Chylka loses control of her addiction. The police detain her client. Kordian tries to warn Chylka about Langer, but she ignores his advice.

Szczerbinski tries to make Chylka aware of how reckless she’s become, but she ignores his warning. After Szczerbinski and Chylka spend the night together, she begins to prepare her client’s defense.

Despite her recent success in the courtroom, Chylka is unable to stop drinking. Kordian is increasingly concerned about Langer's role in Chylka’s case. Newly acquitted, Robert gets kidnapped and tortured.

At the second hearing, the key witness unexpectedly changes his statement and there is no doubt that Langer is behind it. Chylka decides to call another witness.

Robert manages to escape his captor, but he can’t remember where or by whom he was held. Buchelt visits Kordian unexpectedly. Langer makes an offer.

Kormak returns to Warsaw with material that might help Chylka regain her job at the law firm. After winning the settlement, Robert goes missing and it looks like foul play.
