Tinto Brass directs the attractive Serena Grandi. In the early 1950s, in the Ferrara countryside, Miranda runs an inn while waiting for her husband Gino to return from the war. In the meantime, she indulges in numerous affairs: with Berto, a truck driver; Carlo, a former fascist in exile; Norman; and finally Toni, the inn's waiter, who does not dare to express his love.
