Monroe

When a young woman is admitted with a brain tumor, Monroe must help her decide whether or not to undergo surgery that could change who she is. Can Monroe support his patient as his own life spirals out of control?

Monroe finds himself in free-fall as he struggles to accept that his wife has left him. At the hospital, he and Bremner have a double shooting on their hands.

Bremner is tempted to break her own rule about remaining detached from her patient, and Monroe is shocked to discover the identity of Shepherd's mystery date.

Monroe's life plunges further into chaos as he finds that "civilized divorce" is much harder than he had ever imagined. At the hospital, Bremner is incensed to discover that Monroe knows her secret, and Monroe tries to convince an epileptic man to have an operation which would stop his religious hallucinations.

One of Monroe's team members is found to have an aneurysm and requires immediate surgery. Monroe's son thinks his father is giving up on the marriage too easily.

Monroe is finally forced to confront the painful truth about his past when a night shift at the hospital suddenly takes a darker turn.
