1942. Summer. Georgian peasant Georgiy Makharashvili learns that his son was wounded. Georgiy goes to find him in a hospital. While he was getting there, the son recovered and went to the front. Georgiy gets into a motorized platoon and together with his comrades in arms, with fights, gets to Germany. In a city battle, Georgiy finally finds his son, but being wounded, he dies in the father's arms.
