Graduating from military school as a patriotic idealist, Staff Captain Mustafa Kemal fought across every corner of the Ottoman Empire as a loyal soldier until 1919. During this time, he realized that the Ottoman Empire was decaying from within. It was clear that change was necessary. He was exiled, sidelined, pressured, and obstructed.
