Three BFFs struggle with adulthood while realizing it's a lot harder than their immigrant parents led them to believe. Sarah is engaged to her dream Asian doctor fiance until she finds out his hidden secret. Meanwhile, Kim fights being seen as the token Asian at her law firm. Gia is forced to get a real job for the first time, and returns to college where her classmates are barely legal.

Kim pushes Sarah to cancel her wedding plans and move on from David. Gia meets with her college counselor, and realizes she forgot to secure an internship in order to graduate. She begs Prof. John for help, but he firmly keeps a line between their professional and personal relationship. At the law firm, Kim meets Lucy, the new legal assistant who quickly becomes their boss' favorite.
