Life Inside Lockdown reveals the reality of life in the American prison system. In America, before you are convicted of any crime, you are sent to one of the nation's 3,000 county jails. Meanwhile, a 23-year-old 'straight A-student', Michael Chmielewski, is arrested for the murder of a local hairdresser following a break-in that went wrong; and heroin addict, and mother of four, Tammy Lord tries to go clean.
