Denzel Washington's directorial debut is based on the memoirs of Antwone Fisher, a young sailor in the US Navy who had to confront his past in order to deal with his anger. After being in constant trouble for fighting, Fisher is sent to naval psychiatrist Dr Jerome as a form of anger management. Dr Jerome gradually makes Fisher face up to his past which leads to him seeking out his family.
