The film follows the work of a young biologist Dr. Bowler in the Peruvian Amazon. As Mark learns more about this elusive, threatened primate, we also discover that the Red Uakari's life is intertwined with the very jungle that surrounds it...the fruit it eats and drops on the forest floor feeds an entire region of the Amazon. The elusive Red Uakari monkey is vital to the survival of the jungle.
