Reginald The Vampire

Reginald Andres lives a life of dreams deferred until he's turned into a vampire and begins a life he never dreamed of. He's mentored by the vampire who made him, Maurice. He's threatened by a powerful vampire who wants him dead, Angela. He's bullied at work by his boss, Todd. And he wishes there was a way to win the heart of the young woman he loves, Sarah.

Reginald needs to feed and he sucks at feeding no pun intended. Reginald finally feeds on Todd, his boss and bully. Angela, Regional District Head views Reginald as an insult. Post-modern vampires look like runway models, beautiful in every aspect. Reginald does not fit the current image. Maurice is blamed for the mistake he made and Angela intends to burn him alive.

Reginald saves Maurice from certain death. Maurice tells Reginald to keep his newly discovered power a secret. Or Angela will kill him and everyone he knows. Reginald must prove he belongs to the local vampire community by passing a series of physical tests known as The Assessment. Angela's pretty sure he'll fail every one and the penalty for failure is death.

In 1972, Maurice works as a community organizer in Oakland dedicated to social justice. Angela sees the fire that burns in him and offers him a better way to fight. Angela, a vampire, turns Maurice! In the aftermath, Maurice abuses his newfound power, kills a cop, and they must go on the run. But Maurice needs to see someone before he vanishes. His mother.

Angela hires an infamous vampire assassin and aims her at Reginald. Reginald will not see her coming.

Reginald's love life just got complicated. He shares a first kiss with Sarah. A deranged vampire assassin is now head over heels in love with him. Angela puts The Assessment back on the books. One way or another she wants him dead. Reginald and Sarah plan a third date. Nikki engages in a little light stalking. Reginald and Sarah share a romantic dinner. Nikki watches from a wistful distance.

Reginald ran away from the life he wrecked. Reginald seeks a miracle, and that miracle is a legendary vampire named Abraham. Abraham is a creature of impossible gifts and among them is the ability to turn a vampire back to human. Reginald embarks upon a surreal obstacle-filled quest inside the magical hotel where Abraham resides.

Reginald is home again. Sarah isn't speaking to him because he broke her heart. Todd - not dead! -- knows Reginald's secret and is terrified. Reginald navigates the personal: he tells Sarah his big vampire secret, he heals Todd's wounds with his own blood. But the Assessment is only twenty-four hours away. Reginald and Maurice prepare.

The Assessment is here at last. Vampires from every region watch Reginald face test after test. Logan lords over the tests with sadistic glee. But then a surprise. Reginald, after all that preparation, does better than expected. And Maurice allows himself some hope. But then sad conclusion. Reginald fails the last test - the Claw Crane arcade game! - and is sentenced to torture. And death.
