Set in 1972 Brooklyn, Henry (Dylan McDermott) is a tenant in a rundown tenement struggling to finish a novel. His solitary pursuit grows complicated when Willie (Snoop Dogg), a black militant writer, moves into the building. As artistic rivals and unwilling neighbors, they settle into uneasy peace when the landlord threatens to evict both men and demolish the building.
