Zoo Juniors

At the Animal Park, Indian fruit bat Emy has finally recovered from her broken wing and is meeting her colony for the first time. In the wallaby enclosure, the keeper calls the maintenance man to stop wallaby Jules' antics and rhino calf Thanos has a very confused day trying to find his way indoors.

Teenage tiger cubs Alisha and Dragan are back at the Park where they spend all day playing in the water with brand new toys, while Freddie the armadillo is hand-reared in the Nocturnal House and the elephants have a wash and brush-up.

There's sad news at the Park today about abandoned diana monkey, Rhea. The new donkeys and zebras keep their caregivers very busy and a newborn diana monkey arrives on the scene.

Today at the Park the rhinos and elephants are competing for who can produce the most amount of dung. Meanwhile, many species at both the Zoo and Animal Park are keeping the vets busy as they receive vaccinations and their micro-chip zoo passports.

Not all the animals are joining in today in Berlin. Sea lion Hermann prefers to bask in the sun while his cousin Aileen works hard at 'sea lion school.' News is spreading round that Lilly the llama is having a lengthy eye operation and everyone is on tenterhooks.

There is huge drama at the Park this morning. The fruit bat colony has lost a baby and they're making a terrible noise about it. With new Zoo Juniors all over Berlin, there is one in the Nocturnal House who is receiving special treatment from his keeper as he recovers from an injured back.

Zoo Juniors are normally so well behaved but an invitation to spend the night with her keeper is too exciting for the diana monkey. While all the animals are cared for throughout the day, there is a special rescue required in the aviary.

The star attractions at the Park are the elephants and rhinos, all of whom are up early this morning. A mysterious disease is killing the Arctic wolves and the vet pays an urgent visit to the remaining pup to vaccinate him. Two gorgeous kid goats in the Children's Corner receive a visit when they are only an hour old.

Orphaned animals often attach themselves to a single keeper but diana monkey Zafira is being encouraged to find a new friend. The buffaloes and bantengs have new babies and at the elephant enclosure, frustratingly tiny Edgar is too small to play with the latest toy.

While the rhinos do what they do best and flounder in mud for most of the day, the keepers are hard at work observing, assessing and inspecting all the newcomers as well as fitting in training sessions. Meanwhile, the elephants prove to be hopeless football players.
