MeatEater's One Week In November

In episode 1 from November 1st, Mark, Clay, Spencer, and Tony settle in for their weeklong rutcation. Although all four hunters see plenty of action, Tony has an amazing encounter with a giant Minnesota 8-pointer.

After an action packed first day, the crew is brought back to the realities of deer hunting and have to reevaluate their strategies. Tony heads to Wisconsin to see if he can get two bucks on the board while Spencer comes down to the wire with a lone buck that enters his field during last light. Clay and Mark troubleshoot their game-plan to see how they can even the score.

After a slow second day, the guys are back in the action. Clay decides to move farms after a lack of encounters in Arkansas. Mark busts out the decoy in an attempt to attract a buck in Iowa. Tony second guesses his new setup in Wisconsin. And Spencer comes face-to-face with a big buck from the ground in Montana.

It's day 4 and the guys are struggling. Clay decides to move spots, Spencer heads out in search of "cut corn", Mark deals with dogs, and Tony contemplates genetically enhanced deer that bugle...

It's day 5 and things are heating up. Clay is making moves on a new farm in Oklahoma. Tony has two heart-breaking buck encounters in Wisconsin. Mark goes back to the basics in Iowa. And Spencer gets permission on a new farm before killing his second buck of the trip.

Time is running out and the guys only have two days left to get it done. Tony puts a nice buck on the ground, Clay hopes the rut will provide, Mark questions his earlier decision to pass, and Spencer looks to fill his doe tag.

For some of the guys success will come at the last minute, for others—heartbreak.
