Goynar Baksho by Aparna Sen shows the life, changing status and the changing priorities of three women of three different generations in relation to a jewellery box or 'Goynar Baksho'. Rashmoni (Moushumi Chatterjee) is a widow who originally owns the box and later passes it on to her niece-in-law, Somlata (Konkona Sen Sharma) who later passes it on to her daughter, Chaitali (Srabanti Chatterjee).
