Theories about her disappearance have abounded and Police have explored many scenarios and leads without avail. The 2-year-old's disappearance is one of New Zealand's most enduring mysteries yet in 2021 they received new information.

On the night of 15 November 2018, Eddie Peters had been at a tangi of an old school friend who was a senior member of the Mongrel Mob. Later that evening, Eddie was found by a family member lying on a driveway in a pool of blood. He had been viciously beaten and died in hospital a week later. Four years on, no one has been held accountable.
