In the premiere episode, we meet five women who are climbing their way to the top of the LA food scene. Acclaimed pastry chef Waylynn has sworn off bad-boy chefs, but someone may change her mind. Private chef Nina has aspirations of becoming a restaurant chef, but does she have what it takes? Firecracker Jessica works at famed restaurateur Harry Morton's latest venture and tries to make her presence known among the big boys. High-powered food blogger Kat and culinary publicist Brenda need each other professionally, but they don't always get along. In an industry dominated by men, can these women stick together?

With LA Food & Wine Festival just days away, Nina and Jessica scramble to make a big mark on the local food scene. Meanwhile, Waylynn celebrates Fonuts' one-year anniversary with an interview for EaterLA with Kat. But excitement turns to anger when Kat can't keep the facts straight.

Nina's feeling isolated in LA so she throws an adult "show and tell" party in the hopes of strengthening her friendships. Waylynn relives a bittersweet memory by putting on her dream wedding dress she never got to wear. Meanwhile, Brenda and Kat attend a very exclusive charity dinner where Brenda makes an accusation that puts Kat on the defensive.

Jessica's father visits and she is eager for his approval, which is never easy to receive. Waylynn breaks her "no chef" policy when things progress with Andrew. Meanwhile, Brenda drops a bomb when she confronts Kat about her reputation in the LA food scene. Finally, Jessica receives an email that puts her entire career in jeopardy.

Jessica reels over the loss of her job, while Brenda suspects Lindsay is at the root of her troubles at work. Kat arranges a girls' bonding trip to Santa Ynez, but the trip takes a turn when Brenda confronts Lindsay in front of all the women. And a comment by Waylynn sends Jessica running off in tears.

Before leaving Santa Ynez, Jessica confronts Waylynn over the comment that made her break down. Back in LA, Brenda attempts to smooth things over with Lindsay. And Jessica, still lost after losing her job, calls her father in the hopes of comfort and support. Meanwhile, Kat seeks advice from Waylynn over her alleged reputation.

When Waylynn takes a trip to New York City to look at potential new Fonut locations, she also sneaks in a romantic getaway with Andrew. Meanwhile, Jessica looks for a job and Brenda goes out on her first date in two years. Finally, Nina has 48 hours to prepare a pop-up dinner.

With just 24 hours until her pop-up dinner, Nina scrambles to improve her food after receiving less than stellar reviews from her friends. When a confrontation between Lindsay and Kat creates a firestorm, Kat vows not to attend Nina's dinner.
