Red Stags

A dream of putting down the king of the forest. A dream of getting a top trophy from one of Europe's most powerful wildlife species. The dream must come true on a terrain where the wild game stock is managed optimally. The dream for Brian Basse must come true at the German estate Berleburg.

In this fantastic landscape, deer management is performed with skill and scientific accuracy. The aim is a naturally balanced population from which an annual yield of great and truly mature stags can be harvested by hunters.

Hunters from all over Europe visit these exclusive hunting grounds to shoot red stags or some of the other game species present there. Adam Smith, a Scottish hunter, is on his first hunting trip to Germany. He is to participate in a traditional driven hunt in the forest, where roe deer, red deer and mouflon are present, but wild boar is the main quarry.
