Sex Revolutions

In 1948 the first Kinsey Report marks a turning point. Until then promoted by a certain elite, the sexual revolution became a collective movement supported by society as a whole. The baby boom generation is the spearhead and driving force behind this liberation from mores, speech and appearances. Because it challenges, reverses and inverts norms and censorship, each struggle is a small revolution.

The 60's and 70's sexual revolution took a more societal and legalistic turn. It is not only a matter of changing consciences and morals, as witnessed by the rise of sex education and pornography, but also of transforming laws for greater equality and less discrimination. Feminist struggles to allow abortion as well as the struggles of the early gay movements to decriminalize homosexuality.
