In the city of Edo, where the winds of recession were blowing, a righteous bandit, Dark Boy, appeared in the streets and was applauded by the common people. The shogunate, however, is unable to leave him alone, and the young chief magistrate Ogasawara Yamashiro-gami gives strict orders to the north and south magistrates Ooka Tadasato and Nakayama Shimono-gami to capture the Dark Boy.
