GARO: VANISHING LINE

Like any huge city, there is darkness beneath the blinding lights and towering buildings of Russel City. Makai Horrors dwell within that darkness and hunt humans. Tonight as well, a girl that is searching for something late at night is being hunted....

The morning after a crazy night, a strange rain begins to fall upon the bewildered construction men, washing away their memories of the entire. A single man stands watch with an umbrella overhead. His name is Luke, a Makai Alchemist.

The beautiful Gina tries to infiltrate her way to the top floor of a building owned by a big-time gang boss, but finds out it's a bit more than she can handle. She meets up and asks Sword for help, sweetening the deal with a little bait of El Dorado.

Sophie continues the search for any clues that may lead her to her brother, Martin. Since the word "El Dorado" was the only thing her brother left behind, she desperately tries to hunt down the elusive Sword in order to gather more information.

What is El Dorado? Sophie pesters Sword for an answer and meets Gina for the first time. Perfect timing, as it seems Gina needs both a husband and a child for her next treasure hunt. Gina takes Sophie along to show her just what it is that they do.

Sophie sticks with Sword, hoping for some new leads on El Dorado. Luke finds out about her and voices his disapproval to Sword. All the while, it seems there is a movie theater where couples go and sometimes one of them disappears by the end credits.

A sudden increase of missing persons cases are plaguing Russel City. All of the victims are young adults heavily involved with the internet. A message about El Dorado is left behind by one of the victims and the crew begins their frantic search.

Sword and Luke chase after the knight of darkness, who was once the powerful Silver Makai Knight. Fei Long and Meifang support them and protect Sophie from Knight's grasp as Sword and Knight battle it out and the city falls to shambles.

Russel City works on recovering from the mysterious disaster that hit their city. The diner sends Sword and Sophie out west, to find El Dorado and take down Knight before he has a chance to make a second attack. Sophie travels with Sword in a daze.

Sword and Sophie have already left. Luke wanders around the ruined townscape, monitoring the barriers surrounding the city and taking care of Horrors that find their way in. As he recovers from his injuries, he contemplates what it is that he must do.

Sword and Sophie finally make it to San Dell Diós, a small town at the outskirts of the lawless zone. They explore as they wait for their escort to make contact. Unfortunately for them, the town has a plan in place to split the two of them apart.

As the trio continues to travel west, they stumble upon a motel that seems to be set up in the middle of nowhere. Sophie is just happy that she can finally take a shower and have a bed to sleep in, but the other two are much more wary....

Unsure of the next steps to take, Gina suggests going to the Land of Guidance. The crew heads toward Ferre Salé Dessimo, the Makai Alchemist village of trials. Gina must show the strength of her resolve in order to open the path to the Land of Guidance.

Luke finishes his trial at the Land of Guidance, but goes on a detour to a remote settlement at the elder's request. There he meets a girl named Stella, who is sure that he is the Demon Sealer that has been foretold in legend. Here, he confirms his will.

While Sword and the others are traveling to El Dorado, the city is busy with its own plans. A lone Horror infiltrates the city in search of greatness and power. However, El Dorado has a tendency to swallow up those who move about carelessly at night.

The group makes a stop by a seaside town, probably the last city before El Dorado. Everyone's exhaustion is building up and Sophie gets into a fight with Sword. Separated, Sword happens to meet someone who reminds him a little of himself.

The crew is a mountain range away from El Sanvados, but a battalion of Horrors stand in their path. Sword branches off to do some major clean-up, leaving Sophie in Gina's care. When things get rough against Bishop, an ally arrives just in time.

Gina separates from the crew to restock her wares, but the remaining members finally enter El Dorado. Sophie wants to find her brother as soon as possible and thinks finding King may be the fastest way. In her search on ELDO NET, she meets a clown...

Sword, Luke, and Sophie prepare to raid the GarEden Corporation only to find out they are too late, the true El Dorado has reached completion. They rush in, knowing full well that their enemies are waiting for them within. Waiting for Sophie.

Sophie finally reunites with her brother, but something is wrong. In his mind, she's still a 10 year old girl and the things he says doesn't match what she knows. At the same time, Sword also meets someone from the past. An illusion? Or something else?

Sophie is heartbroken her brother is already a Horror. Martin finds out the truth about all the work he has been doing for Sophie. While Sword and the others rush to Sophie's side, Sophie searches for her unstable brother to finish things herself.

Sophie discovers that she was the trigger that King had prepared for her brother Martin, who carried no inner darkness within him. Now that King has taken over Martin's body, he moves forward and releases ELDO NET into the world.

Sword and Sophie go back into ELDO NET, determined to destroy the storage container that holds all the souls abducted by the system. Lizzy helps them on the inside, while Luke and Gina protect the duo from the forces on the outside.

King has been destroyed, but a few loose ends still need tying up. Per Sword's request, Luke erases Sophie's memory so that she can return to her normal life. Her days are peaceful, but in the back of her mind, Sophie knows she has lost something.
