Charlie and Lola

Lola refuses to admit that their shared bedroom is messy... "It's just all spread out!" Try as he might, Charlie simply can't make Lola see that having a tidy room can be a good thing.

Charlie and Marv go swimming, Lola decides to play "Spies" with her imaginary friend Soren Lorenson. The two intrepid detectives spy a removal van outside the flats and they become convinced that a big Ogre is moving in next door! Then they change their minds... it's not an Ogre, it's a wolf!

Charlie is Magic. Lola knows this for a fact. He has a new magic set and he can make coins appear from behind her ears! Lola wants to be magic too. She practices and practises and practises, but the magic just doesn't seem to work and she cannot make her magic white rabbit disappear.

Lola is determined to make Charlie's birthday party the best birthday party ever! The problem is that Lola's idea of a good party is fairy cakes, dancing and pink things, whereas Charlie prefers monsters, green and things that go squidge.

Long car journeys and rainy days can be pretty boring, but a dentist waiting room where there is absolutely nothing to do is definitely the most boring place of all! The lady at the desk seems determined to ruin any fun that Charlie and Lola start to have.

Charlie's is only missing one dinosaur for his immaculate collection and it's the hardest one to get... the Gigantasaurus! Lola is inspired to start her very own collection. But what should she collect? Leaves? Water? Hippos? Eventually Lola ends up with her own totally unique collection of things... but what is it?

Lola and Lotta are best friends. They do everything together. Then a new girl arrives at school and Lotta seems rather taken with her. Lola starts to feel left out. Inconsolable that Lotta may not like her anymore Charlie and Marv come to the rescue, and Lola realises that of course Lotta is still definitely her best friend.

Lola is convinced she's the luckiest person in the whole wide world, especially when Granny and Grandpa send her and Charlie the money to go and see the new 'Bat Cat' film. 'Bat Cat' is her favourite! Then things start to go wrong and Lola's luck runs out. Or has it?

Lola's extremely most favourite red shiny shoes no longer fit, and Dad insists that she gets a new pair of shoes. Lola is not having any of it... her old red, shiny shoes are her favourite and she is definitely not going to change them, not ever! No other shoes are as grippy, or bouncy or shiny or red as her old favourite red shiny shoes!

Charlie is growing a big tomato plant and Lola wants to grow something too. Mum gives her a seed and Lola can't help but imagine a whole host of exotic and exciting plants that her seed might grow into: a biscuit plant or a butterfly plant or maybe even a singing plant!

Charlie and Lola's well-rehearsed circus act for Granny and Grandpa is put in jeopardy when poor Charlie breaks his arm playing football with Marv. Lola and Soren Lorensen try to nurse him back to health and cheer him up. But will Lola find anything for poor "broken" Charlie to do in the circus?

Lola is overjoyed when Lotta finally agrees to do swaps: Lola can borrow Lotta's brand new fluffy white coat in exchange for Lola's clippy handbag... just until tomorrow. In spite of promising to be extremely very careful, things don't quite go as planned for Lola. How can she possibly own up to Lotta that her brand new white fluffy coat is lost?

Charlie and Lola are looking forward to going to see a Chinese puppet show. But they are in a squabbling mood. In fact, today they do nothing but squabble! Will they ever "simmer down" and learn how to talk nicely to each other?

It's Lola's first ever school sport's day and, after much deliberation, she decides to enter the Egg and Spoon race - the most difficult race of all. How is she ever going to keep her egg on her spoon?! The answer is concentration ... and lots of it!

Charlie can only watch his favourite TV Show "Space Family Hudson" after he and Lola have completed some little jobs for Mum and Dad. Lola can't help but get distracted, and every job becomes a wonderful game. For Charlie, these games are not fun, time is running out and he's going to miss his favourite programme of all time.

Mrs Hanson has chosen Lola to look after Bert, the class guinea pig, for the school holidays. Lola makes sure she knows everything about guinea pigs. That is everything except where to find him when Bert the guinea pig totally and utterly disappears!

A surprise school trip is planned and as Charlie, Marv and Lotta speculate about where it might be, Lola starts to worry that she might get lost. Bright clothes, whistles and pebbles all come into play in an attempt to avoid getting lost. Finally, however, the school trip takes them to a place where you are meant to get lost! A maze!

Charlie and Marv are trying to do their Spanish homework which sparks an interest in Lola to speak Spanish too. The boys say she is too young to speak Spanish. So Lola decides she wants to go to Spainland... now!

On a trip to the zoo Lola is keen to buy a seal toy for her bath but unfortunately she spends all of her pocket money by the time she gets to the zoo shop. In fact, Lola is having one of those days when she can't seem to save anything for later. Charlie helps out, as ever, and is later rewarded by his grateful little sister, who finally gets the hang of saving!

Lola isn't scared of the dark she just wants the bedroom door open, the window blind up and the light on... that's all! That fact is that she is a little scared of the dark because that's when the ogre comes! Charlie tries to rid his sister of her fear of the dark. Finally, Lola lets Charlie get to the end of the story book revealing the happy ending with the ogre.

Marv and Charlie are off to the insect house and Marv's little brother Morten is coming round to play with Lola. Lola is very excited and is sure that Morten will be her new friend who lives down the stairs. However, Morten is very shy indeed and Lola has to draw on all her resources to get him to play with her at all. Will Morten smile if Lola tries hard enough? Who wouldn't!

Everybody in the whole school has to make a picture of their house for open visiting school day. Charlie, Marv, Lola and Lotta all decide to make their pictures round at Charlie and Lola's. Lotta, who prides herself on being really good at drawing houses, suddenly can't draw anymore!

Charlie and Lola love Charlie's pet mouse, Nibbles. They even take him to school where he shows off his extremely clever tricks. But mice don't live for very long and when Nibbles dies, Lola doesn't think she could ever have a pet mouse again. The arrival of Tickles, the most tickliest mouse in the world, proves her wrong.

Lola is in a superstitious mood. There are so many unlucky things you can do. Charlie plays along with this but Lola's imagination gets carried away. If you step on the cracks, do bears really jump out at you? Or is it crocodiles? Or maybe lions? How can Charlie persuade Lola that some of these things are simply not true?
