Susan and her co-workers have their work life disrupted by their new boss, Ian Maxtone-Graham, who transforms The Gate into an upscale men's magazine.

When Oliver wants to include staff photos with their columns, Susan objects. After seeing her photo on a billboard, baseball great Reggie Jackson demands a date in return for an interview.

When Susan pretends to be fluent in Russian, Ian purchases some old Russian letters thinking they’re valuable. Susan discovers they’re not, and Oliver comes to her rescue.

Susan tells Vicki how much she dislikes the idea of having her move into her building. Vicki moves in anyway. Susan accidentally breaks Ian's bookstand, which she believes is an heirloom.

Luis misses Maddy. Susan tries to persuade him to express his emotions, but Nate tries to cure Luis by introducing him to sexy models. Luis soon rediscovers the things that gave him pleasure before he met Maddy.

Every time Susan and Oliver try to get comfortable on their romantic getaway her ex gets in the way. Vicki tricks everyone into painting her apartment.

Susan offers to take Oliver on a ski trip that she can't afford. Hoping to earn extra cash, she buys stock, loses her money and takes a second job as a dance partner for middle-aged men.

Things get out of hand when Susan, trying to play matchmaker, hosts a dinner party and too many people show up.
