Thomas and Friends are back in series 21 for another fun-filled series of railway adventures. Terence the Tractor runs into problems on a frozen pond. Gordon and Spencer take off with each other's coaches, causing confusion and delay. Poor Toby has to work with a new coach that loves to go fast. And Cranky learns that two cranes are better than one when new crane Carly arrives at Brendam Docks.

When a rumour goes around that Daisy's springs have finally sprung, Diesel resents the implication that it is somehow his fault... even though it is!

Diesel goes back and forth telling Harvey and Daisy that the other engine is boasting about how he or she is most uniquely Useful.

When Thomas comes to collect the trees he thinks back to the very first time he met Terence, and how he told him he thought his wheels were ugly. Terence explained that they were caterpillar tracks.

Spencer boasts about being a private engine and Gordon boasts about pulling the express and they both insist that they are faster and better than the other.

And there's further indignity for Gordon when he is forced to take Edward's cars to the scrap yard.

The flatbeds are heavy and Sir Topham Hatt asks Emily to lend the two engines some puff. Emily joins Douglas at the back of the train - but their chatter makes Donald, out at the front, feel left out in the cold.

The steam engines are still waiting for the coal delivery to arrive, when the weather takes a turn for the worst and everything freezes. The engines carry on with their work, but the coal still doesn't arrive and the next day there is not enough fuel. Sir Topham Hatt confines the steam engines to the sheds.

So, when a branch gets stuck in the open gears of his crane, he refuses to make a fuss. At first Harvey ignores the problem and tries to distract Cranky (from noticing the problem) with a game. And then, still too shy to ask for help, Harvey tries to fix his crane himself.

Millie helps in the garden and collecting supplies for the castle, while Stephen and Glynn give visitors tours of the grounds.

This prompts Philip to try and find out the real reason he is number 68. Unfortunately, nobody he asks seems to know.
