Free-spirit Syngin is flying from South Africa to the US to be with the love of his life, Tania. Although he hopes for a romantic reunion, he is quickly thrust into meeting Tania's friends and faces uncomfortable questions about his future plans.

Syngin is overwhelmed by the living situation and faces more uncomfortable questions when he meets Tania's extended family. Then, Tania announces she's taking off for a month for Costa Rica and leaving Syngin at home with her mom!

While Tania is having the time of her life in Costa Rica, Syngin struggles to pass the time in Connecticut with only Tania's mom for company. When Tania refuses to call more often, Syngin starts to second-guess his choice to leave his life behind for her.

Syngin is happy when Tania finally returns from Costa Rica, but their joy at being back together is quickly overshadowed by more bickering. Then, Tania drops a bombshell at a couples astrology session that might tear the two of them apart.

While on a fancy date, Tania and Syngin confront their issues. Later, Syngin is concerned about his brother who was in a serious accident. He decides he needs to go to South Africa to be there for his family, and he asks Tania if she will go with him.

Tania and Syngin arrive in South Africa, and Syngin becomes emotional upon reuniting with his family. Tania is concerned when she learns that the only things Syngin has shared with his family and friends about his time in America are complaints.

The morning after a screaming match, Tania, Syngin and his family go to a winery. Later, the couple gets into yet another fight while grabbing beers with Syngin's friends. They want to be together, but they are both quickly losing their patience.

Syngin and Tania have decided to split up, but they struggle to leave their sexual relationship behind. Syngin downloads a dating app, but he worries about how Tania will take the news when she finds out.

Tania is in denial as Syngin prepares to leave Connecticut. Heading west, Syngin hopes to create a new home in Arizona. After a friend introduces him to a potential love interest, Syngin prepares to go on his first date since separating from Tania.
