In the summer of 1912, two men encounter each other in the Syrian Desert - two men who couldn't be more different: the German Baron Max von Oppenheim and the Englishman Thomas Edward Lawrence. Both of them are archaeologists and are searching for the remnants of lost cultures in the Near East.
