Blood, Lies and Alibis

Preacher Anthony Hopkins of Mobile, Alabama, claims his wife died in childbirth, but he actually killed her after she discovered he was abusing his stepdaughter. He hid the body with the girl's help. Years later, the truth emerges when the stepdaughter becomes pregnant with his child.

Gary Evans, a career thief who robbed antique stores across New York, resurfaces in 1997 after years off the radar. Police uncover a trail of murdered associates and store owners in his wake. Captured at last, Evans confesses to multiple killings but takes his own life before facing prosecution.

Over two years, eight prostitutes vanish from Poughkeepsie, NY. Despite multiple suspects, no evidence surfaces- until 1998, when a woman reports Kendall Francois tried to kill her. Previously questioned and even passing a lie-detector test, Francois finally confesses. Police searching his home discover the bodies of all eight women.

Bruce Firman is found dead in his garage by his soon-to-be ex-wife, Margaret Benesch, and her daughter. Though Benesch stands to inherit everything, she has an alibi. Fingerprints in a teen's car lead to her son Byron, who admits he was hired by his mother, revealing that Benesch orchestrated Firman's murder.

18-year-old Erin Chorney disappears, and her abusive boyfriend, Michael Bridges, is suspected but lacks evidence. Over a year later, police go undercover, posing as leaders of a criminal organization. They convince Bridges to confess to Chorney's murder, allowing authorities to finally arrest him.

Katherine Foster's body is found at the University of Alabama after a student hears gunshots. A campus security guard is suspected but later cleared, and the case goes cold for 20 years. A whispered confession to an AA sponsor eventually leads police to arrest and convict Foster's friend, Jamie Letson.

David Castor is found dead with a green liquid nearby. His wife Stacey's fingerprints are on the glass, and a turkey baster with his DNA is found in the trash. Suspicion grows as her daughter Ashley is found unconscious with a note claiming she killed David. Upon recovery, it's revealed Stacey poisoned both Ashley and David-and her first husband too.

19-year-old Nikia Shanell Kilpatrick is found bound and strangled in her Jacksonville apartment. Within a month, three more women are killed the same way. Evidence, including DNA, fibers, and cab and phone records, links taxi driver Paul Durousseau, who is eventually convicted of five counts of first-degree murder.

In 1987, Kathy Odom is stabbed to death in her home, likely by someone she knew. Years later, new DNA techniques allow police to test the lamp cord tied to her wrist. The DNA matches her brother-in-law, Greg Markwardt, who is arrested 15 years after the murder.

Susan McFarland goes missing in San Antonio. Police find her abandoned car and a stolen SUV with blood near her home. Suspicion falls on both Rick Clemmer, linked to Susan, and her husband Richard. After 53 days, Susan's body is found, and circumstantial evidence ties her murder to Richard.
