King Suen, the incompetent ruler of Chai, loses multiple towns to a rival in a soccer match. With some advice from an ancestor, he seeks the Sage, Chung Lei Chi, for help.

Mo Yim recieves some Palace etiquette training from Lady Shung Yeung, and meets the kind Palace maid Ying Chun.

Madam Mei's killer is revealed. A magical amulet makes the King fall for a Palace maid.

The Queens take the Princess out of the Palace for some fun. The local sacrifice to the river gods is interrupted and Mo Yim shows the King why human sacrifice is a bad practice.

Mo Yim gets funding for the canal routes by again shaming the King into acquiescing. Ying Chun asks the King to look for her family.

The King gives Ying Chun a pavilion, which turns out to need the local village to evacuate in order to renovate. Mo Yim tries to win the King over with food.

Ying Chun tricks the King into doing actual work by using his dislike for Mo Yim, and raises her family up in society by her connection.

Mo Yim and Ying Chun gets sent to a ten-day culinary school to prepare for their upcoming contest. The King pays them a visit.

The King returns from his visit with new-found feelings for Mo Yim. Mo Yim learns about her husband's suspicious phobia of fire.

Rumors doubting the King's identity circulates Lam Chi. The King's brother attempts to remove him from the throne.

Mo Yim saves the King from execution and proves his identity. Now that the crisis is over, Ying Chun holds the King to his promise.

Mo Yim tries on make-up in an attempt to win the King over. Chronicler Tuen Muk steps on one of Princess Wan's pet silkworms.

Lord Shun Yueng executes a plot to assassinate the King, leading the King to go missing. Now, Mo Yim must find him before he is dead.

Mo Yim saves the King from the angry villagers, only to encounter deadly assassins. Back in the Palace, Lord Shun Yeung plots his ascension to the throne.

King Suen returns just in time to stop Shun Yeung's crowning ceremony. Mo Yim tries to find out if there was a conspiracy to usurp the throne and Shun Yeung's plan backfires.

The King is desperate to remove Mo Yim's birthmark. The Princess is put in charge of a virtuous and talented woman contest. The Queen's mother decides she wants to win and doesn't care how.

Mo Yim continues to chastise the King for his obsession with beauty and appearances. Advisor An is worried that his curse will hurt Mo Wai.

Chronicler Tuen Muk realizes Princess Wan's feelings for him. Meanwhile, An Kiu is in danger of being married to Queen Ha's brother.

Mo Yim and the King switch bodies. While they struggle to adjust to their fake new identities, the Prince of Chiu comes to Chai for his wedding with Princess Wan.

The King and his wives make a trip to the Filian Son's Spring for its water. Ying Chun's dark past catches up to her.

Ying Chun, trapped in Mo Yim's body, quickly realizes that the King only loved her for her looks, while the King begins to see his Ying Chun for her personality.

Through tricking her sister, Mo Yim's mentor successfully switches the queens back into their right bodies, but while Ying Chun is up and walking, Mo Yim is in the coma.

Mo Yim and Ying Chun's friendship heals, with Mo Yim more and more attentive to Ying Chun's pregnancy, but a working scheme in the dark jeopardizes the baby.

Mo Yim is accused of poisoning the rice cakes. Lord Shun Yeung is plotting to usurp the throne and get rid of Mo Yim.
