After losing her mother, Tohru starts living in a tent in the forest which turns out to be owned by the Soma clan.

Tohru learns that some members of the Soma clan can turn into animals of the zodiac, and she agrees to keep it secret.

The class decides to have a rice ball stand for the school festival. Tohru meets a mysterious little boy at her job.

A cute girl called Kagura turns up at the house looking for Kyo, but her personality is not what Tohru expected.

Tohru leaves the Soma house to move into her relatives' newly renovated house, but her relatives do not treat her kindly.

With the end-of-term tests over, Momiji invites Tohru, Yuki and Kyo to a hot springs inn owned by the Somas for White Day.

It is a new school year, and Tohru is excited to see Momiji and Hatsuharu as first year students in their school.

While out at the vegetable patch, Tohru encounters a snake which turns out to be Kyo's older brother Ayame.

It has been a year since Tohru's mother passed away. At her part time job, Momiji tells Tohru about his family.

Shigure brings Tohru, Yuki and Kyo to the Somas' lakeside house for a short vacation, partly to mess with his editor.

Exasperated that Tohru is still using her school swimsuit, Arisa and Saki enlist the Somas' help to buy one for her.

Arisa reminisces how she met and was saved by Tohru and her mother Kyoko, eventually becoming best friends with Tohru.

Yuki and Tohru meet Hatsuharu out in the rain carrying an exhausted Kisa Soma in tiger form, who has run away from home.

Upon returning home, Tohru meets Ritsu, who is the monkey of the Soma family and constantly apologizing for everything.

Hiro Soma is jealous that Kisa is spending more time with Tohru, so he goes to meet Tohru and starts bullying her.

Under the pretense of interviewing her, the 'Prince Yuki' fan club visits Saki's house to try to find out her weakness.

Saki recounts her childhood where no one understood her powers, and schoolmates would bully her by calling her a witch.

Tohru is sad that she has to take the make-up exam, but her friends cheer her up by telling her she will pass it.

Kyo's father figure Kazuma visits Shigure's house to see him. However, Kyo learns that he cannot return to the dojo.

After leaving the house without saying goodbye to Kyo, Kazuma confesses that he took Kyo in to atone for his past.
