Ranch to Table

It's holiday season on the ranch, and Elizabeth Poett is making favorites and sweet treats for friends and family. She prepares a Sausage, Gruyere and Mushroom Strata. Then, she makes Thumbprint Cookies and Chocolate Truffles as gifts for neighbors.

When Elizabeth Poett wants to cook with seafood, she heads to the Santa Barbara Harbor. This time, she picks up shrimp to serve with grilled steaks for a special birthday dinner. For dessert, Elizabeth makes a peach buckle with caramel sauce.

Using fresh produce, Elizabeth makes dinner for her family that includes Chile Rellenos and a four-layer Carrot Cake.

Whenever Elizabeth Poett's cousin comes to the ranch, it's a casual fun time centered around food. Elizabeth makes Honey-Glazed Wings, Artichoke Dip and Potato Fritters for the occasion.

Elizabeth prepares a picnic of Pesto Caprese Sandwiches, Blueberry Pie and Elderberry Spritzer for her boys who tackle a big project.

It's lavender season on the ranch. Every year at this time, Elizabeth's friends and family help harvest the lavender field behind her parents' house. As a thank you, Elizabeth makes Chicken Piri Piri and Lemon Cake with Lemon Curd Buttercream Frosting.

To thank helpful neighbors, Elizabeth prepares a seasonal Corn Lasagna and Cherry Almond Scones.

Rancho San Julian has been in Elizabeth's family for generations. This week, her cousins are visiting the ranch to catch up and lend a hand. Afterward, Elizabeth cooks dinner for everyone featuring Chicken Marsala and Molten Chocolate Cake.

Elizabeth knows what it's like to be a new mom, and today, she wants to celebrate a close friend who recently had twins. To give her a chance to relax, Elizabeth prepares a Roasted Cherry Tomato Tart and Chocolate Chip cookies for brunch on the ranch.
