ENKU Life to Live

In the Edo Period, a monk ENKU was a sculptor who carved Buddhist images out of wood. They were crudely done but were close to the hearts of the poor and the weak. He gave away the images freely to those who sought relief from the pain in their lives. He traveled throughout the country and prayed for the happiness of the people.
