Call Me Mother

Its Adoption Day! Ten drag artists audition to join one of three newly formed Drag Houses. When the house mothers are revealed to be the iconic Miss Peppermint, Barbada and Crystal the stakes climb higher than the competitors’ heels and kicks. In a final twist, the Mothers can only adopt three children each and someone will be leaving the competition before the day is over.

In honor of Mother’s Day, the competitors are challenged to decorate cakes inspired by Mother and then design their family runway – Marie Antoinette based ‘Let Them Eat Cake’ confections. But as the pressure mounts, the best icing on the cake might be family therapy.

Still reeling from last week’s elimination, the Houses quickly refocus their efforts for the Tantrums & Tiaras pageant.  While fresh takes on taffeta are realized, the creative direction taken by the Houses brings childhood traumas and old-fashioned ideas into the spotlight.

With one House leading the competition, everyone is challenged to reenact a scene from a classic horror film. The costumes might be black and white but the families are feeling all sorts of technicolor as the competition takes a shocking turn.

The tables are turned on Miss Peppermint, Crystal and Barbada as the artists prepare to Roast their Mothers. One of the world’s most famous Drag Kings stops by to deliver a masterclass in the art of ‘punching up’ and Burn Baby Burn looks heat up the runway.

Not one, but two members of international drag royalty swing by as the five remaining artists get dolled up and take a theatrical journey to London’s West End for a very special performance that everybody will be talking about.

The final four struggle with sky-high emotions and sky-high challenges. Their brand pitches for Matthew Camp are business class but the competitors' relationships are heading for coach. While the Mothers manage their families through the turbulence, some talents rise above while one trip comes to a breathtaking end.

The Grand Finale is the motherlode of drag performances. The finalists share the stage with Mother in three iconic lip syncs.
