In El Paraíso, an impoverished neighborhood of Bogotá, nineteen-year-old Ronald is in love with Lady. Their love story is cut short when corrupt members of the Colombian army set up a false combat operation, tricking the young local men into their deaths at the hands of the lieutenant’s unit.
